Interestingly my DD just returned from Asia and did not have to present a Covid test. She also got through customs with Global Entry even easier than usual. I teased her that she snuck into the country.
I really hope they get rid of the Covid testing requirement before our next big trip.
Another kid of mine just left for an overseas trip. This one did buy COVID insurance, the other one didn’t because she booked everything with points except for the airfare, so she didn’t see the point.
Edited to add a quote from the article: “ The move will go into effect for US-bound air travelers at midnight on Sunday.” Note the article is reporting it is “expected”, hopefully official statement comes later today.
Now I can finally convince my husband that we can safely travel to Europe without him fearing of being stuck and not being able to get back to his team.
My husband dream is to go to the Monaco Grand Prix. We are on our way to our first beach trip with the GDs; hubby had to watch Qualifying for this weekends race in the car while I drove. F1 racing comes first in our family!
I’m so happy they’ve changed the requirements since my daughter’s best friend is going to Portugal on her honeymoon week after next! The young woman is already stressed out from wedding and trip planning, so this is one thing she doesn’t have to worry about, at least!
So if you all did have Covid, you would now just go ahead and get on an international flight? It’s not like they were keeping people randomly off these flights, just people who were infected with a virus that is still causing a global pandemic. I get not wanting the hassle, but wanting to be able to fly sick or not I just don’t get.
And my kids have been overseas many times since the pandemic and getting testing to return has never been a big deal.
