What are your views on smoking?

Apparently you become acclimated to the smell. Idk from personal experience though.

Yeah, I just don’t ever want to do it. Idk…just something I’ve never even thought twice about.

Yeah, it’s different if your parents smoke. Then you’ve been around it your whole life and it doesn’t bother you as much.

“So what if I just killed forty toddlers? Stop judging me.”

If you spew smoke in my face, I will judge you. Sorry. It’s not “just my problem.”

…because everyone who smokes blows smoke in your face. Definitely.

I don’t care if someone else smoke. They can do whatever they want. It’s their life.

Unless they start messing around with other people’s lives. Then we’ve got a problem.

Look, smoke has a way of traveling through there air, you know? I thought that as a smoker, you would know that. There’s a pretty big radius from which one can smell smoke, and if anyone’s in that radius, your smoke is going into their lungs.

Now, if you decide to smoke only in your own home, that’s a different matter and I’ll probably never know. But if I can smell you and your smoke, I’ll judge you.

I don’t judge people if they smoke. It really doesn’t bother me unless they do it ALL the time, then I would probably get agitated because I highly dislike the smell.

The smoke density is really low if you smoke outside, especially when you walk to class when smoking.

Of course, smokers are bad people. We’re the scum of the earth.

And because you don’t do anything bad yourself.

And like someone said (Wes?), not all smokers are chain smokers. Some, like myself, take smoking as more like a dessert and only do it once or twice a day. Ah, the headrush. <3

What are the winds like in Georgia? I smell people smoking all the time.

Right. Very mature. And to top it off, a poorly thought-out maneuver to change the topic…
But despite the fallacies, it’s pretty to easy to counter with: “Stop judging me for judging you. It doesn’t harm you in any way, huh?”

Well, I don’t care enough about this thread to continue. I’m not convincing anybody, and you won’t be smoking anywhere near where I live.

^^I don’t think that’s bad at all, EsPeCiAlLy if you only do it twice a day.

Not true.

I don’t think smokers are bad people. Most people don’t and you’re an idiot if you think all smokers are bad people. All nonsmokers are saying is keep it away from us. We make the decision not to smoke, so please respect that.

Smokers are not bad people. But secondary smoke is dangerous and some smokers are so dumb to not care where they smoke. You’re not one of those people, so I;m not talking about you.

We’re not judging you, we’re giving you our opinion.

Its a disgusting habit, IMO and I would know because my brother smokes a lot every day and is somehow “not addicted” and “can quit any time”.

A friend and his dad couldn’t quit after the mother/wife died of lung cancer because of secondary smoke.

Its not the smoking actually that bothers me, its the addiction that comes along with me. Oh, and the smell.

is it weird that i actually like the smell of cigarettes? lol. i dont even smoke. neither do my parents/family. most of my friends do though.

No, some people love the smell of cigarettes. You probably love the smell of black and milds.

Mmmm.

The marginal cost of smoking a cigarette exceeds the marginal utility of doing so.

Also, too many people smoke. There is a social cost for smoking not experienced by the individual lighting up a cigarette, so the level of smokers is supra-optimal.

Not because I like smoking but…

your post was really pretentious.

Lol, I see you’ve gotten some headway into your econ class. But the marginal cost of smoking a cigarette for smokers does not exceed the marginal utility because most smokers either A) really do love the feeling or B) are already addicted. In which cases the long term probability of sickness is outweighed by the short term promise of relief.

There is an economical benefit to the sale of cigarettes that some say alleviates part of the social cost of smoking.

Supraoptimal? No one says that lol.

@fightchoke & fuzzle-i think it smells real goooood :]

proletariat2:“So what if I just killed forty toddlers? Stop judging me.”

LOL, yes, because who HASN’T heard that one? rolls eyes

“and you won’t be smoking anywhere near where I live.”

if i ever do take up smoking, i think i will blow it directly in your face, thank u very much. lol, what a dumbass thing to say.

in other news:i watched the first half or so of ‘thank you for smoking’ just a few days ago. really funny movie. need to watch the end of it, still.
