What ate my chances?

Hello, I am a high school student at a very competitive public high school. My gpa was unfortunately very low for 9th and 10th grade, but I maged to bring it up and take a very hard course load in 11th. My unweighted gpa is an 87.11., my wighted gpa is 91.5. My ACT however is 33. SAT US history- 790. I also have 5’s in AP Euro, U.S., and Biology, and a 3 in AP statistics. I am taking 6 ap courses in 12 grade. My recommendations are pretty good. I also have pretty good EC’s.

Assisting in graduate level research on biotechnology at NYIT- summer before senior year
Assisting different proffesor in robotics research STEM program at NYIT
Founded Model UN club outside of school(my school said they could not have any new clubs)- we are going to national high school model un in nyc
Head of only high school team for NASA space apps compitition- semi finalist
Member of global awareness club- global affairs debate club
Assistant teacher at farsi school
Intern at aerospace museum
Swim team- semifinalist award
I also tutor kids for work

I am very interested in international relations, and I know my EC’s dont completley show that. I had interests in both science and humanities throughout high school, but I plan on explaining that in my application. Also, I am a dual citizen, I dont know if that helps.
Now, I know my gpa is very low, but I had an upward trend as I took harder classes.

I really like columbia university and University of chicago, bit Iknow those schools are very hard to get in. I am also applying to-

Cornell
Northwestern
Boston University
Boston College
Tufts
UC berkeley
Brandeis
UMichigan

I am not sure weather to apply ED to Cornell ILR or Northwestern, I am really stuck on this decision.

So please, chance me!

Sorry, what are, not what ate

I have an ap award with honor, i don’t know if that helps

Anyone?

Hello?

Frankly, those are all reaches.

Agree with above poster ^^^. Too many reaches. Can you and your family afford many of these OOS schools? UC Berkeley will cost your around $55K/year.

I have been told that BU would be more of a safe school for me, I just was not shure weather to apply ed to cornell ilr or northwester. Also do my ec’s help?

Also what would you think about boston college?

I know my gpa is really low, but I managed to raise it alot in my junior year, I also have a partial reason for my gpa- sick relative

Hopefully you can see the errors in the above quote.

BU CGS may be somewhat of a safety.

But what about ED to cornell ilr or northwestern?

Cornell and Northwestern are high reaches.

It’s your consistently terrible spelling that is eating your chances.

What do you think would be match to high match?

UMass, UConn, the SUNY’s.

And it is whether, not weather.

I know that my gpa is low, but I had a reason for it, and I raised my grades a lot during my junior year. Do my high AP scores and high ACT score help at all? Doesn’t going from low 80’s to low to mid 90’s make a difference?

You are not looking to be chanced here, you are looking for others to say that you will likely get into those schools, which no one with knowledge of these schools will say.

No, I just thought that these factors might have a positive impact on one’s chances
