Looking at my applications, I see that some schools leave such huge spaces for your awards and honors. Besides National Merit and National Achievement, I can’t really think of anything I have worth noting. What are some of the awards that you guys are putting down?

national merit is probably one of the biggest awards that you have and i don't! so you've got a really big gem already.

Have you earned any special awards through school, and not just national ones?

Don't get excited, its only gonna be a commended scholar, I was sick that day and got a 204...

Sadly, the only awards my school gives out regularly are honor roll, NHS, and perfect attendance. At graduation they give awards to most outstanding student in each subject.

Hey, honor roll's not bad. :) I imagine it would be a bit like putting Dean's List on transfer applications.

National Honors Society if you have to be recommended in your school. AP Scholar awards.

-Baush and lomb science award junior year. Sounds fancy and I think it carries a LITTLE bit of prestige.

-1st place in computer science division of Permian Basin regional science fair (only 3 contestants- LOL)
-went to UIL science Regionals (a competition in Texas) 2 yrs in a row.
- hoping for national merit scholar and ap national scholar

-Crockett cougar award = ) (Presented to all Midland High School PALS who mentored at Crockett elementary)

not many awards. I do a lot of weird stuff that may get college's attention though.
-tutored a lot (20-30 hrs for a person on SAT and another on ACT). and lots for physics this year (course none of this is official)

raised 1000 for st judes childrens hospital freshman year. raised 1200 for march of dimes freshman year. Started (sorta) fundraiser for PALS class that raised 1000( or was it 2000?) dollars for the tsunami victims this year.

hoping to set up a tutoring network where I gather 10-20 of the smartest and best tutors at my school and offer tutoring services (man, we sound like wicked geniuses based on the stuff we've done/recieved). half money goes to tutor half goes to a charity( thinking tsunami victims). done some projections and if all goes well I can raise $10,000 - $30,000 by the end of the school year. course, I am still unsure if I even want to do this (lots of time req. and weird stuff is hindering at present). Plus I am not sure if the money would even help them (may make it worse). not sure. and I dont even know where to do research and decide.

-i dunno. I guess weird stuff sets me apart. not necc. awards but projects and accomplishments. And a really weird drive and curiosity unmatched by any of my peers.

for some reason I feel like I've never done anything worth noting. aw well. not aiming for the Ivies anyway

-greatest accomplishment of all- got a teacher to yell at me .

Just kidding :-P
