To all you extraordinary people who care for the earth: what book helped your APeS?
How well and many do you have to know the case studies?
Barrons, Princeton. Etc what helped you?!?
( I'm taking the late exam):

I really don’t think you need a review book for APES - if you’re taking the class, that is. I didn’t study, stayed up the night before until the wee hours of the morning doing stupid things, and still managed to get a 5.

However, I’ve heard really good stuff about the Barrons book.

i also have friends who used barrons and they got a 5

Depends on what you’re looking for; I used Barrons and liked it, but there are some things I wasn’t sure that they covered (or they did so briefly). Also, their sample questions were tougher than the real exam. Look up in your actual textbook case studies and laws/acts, and examples of certain things (endangered species, countries and populations, percentages, etc).

Know at least stuff on this page: http://nyearthscienceteacher.com/3091/4814.html (not a comprehensive list, but useful) and check out FRQs on the collegeboard website (look for something that ISN’T on them, and study for that, but know what’s on them as well). The link I posted was actually from another CCer, but I forgot his/her name.

well, I took the exam this year. I bought Barron’s but I did not like it because the descriptions were so brief and did not go into detail while in the exam they ask you for specific things. The day before the tests I went through the whole vocabulary from the actual environmental book from class and went through my classwork. that’s it and I’m pretty sure I passed it.

I used PR, and it was pretty good. Almost no unnecessary info, and i just read through it for the months before the test.

Smartypants was enough for me… Hell much of that is common sense gained from AP Biology, Environmental Science (regular course), and the news.

Princeton Review worked the best for me. I never looked at Barron’s or Smartypants though.

I used PR, and after taking the exam, I can say basically it covered everything. Although it’s a little short on the math, you can do fine without it.(most of the math is common sense anyways.) Probably the easiest ap exam i’ve taken, looking at a 5 right now. which is big because I’ve only gotten a 5 once -_-

I used Princeton Review, and I thought it covered the exam very well (even though I just skimmed through the book). I’ve heard good things about Smartypants though
