What calculator?

So, I've been using my good ole Ti-84 plus since forever and I was just wondering if it will be sufficient for what I need in college. I know it probably will, but I'm basically really open to upgrading to a better one since now is a good a time as any. Any recommendations? Or I am completely fine with my 84-plus and upgrading would just be a complete and total waste of money?

Waste of money for sure. I bet you do not even know a quarter of what that seemingly lousy calculator can do (I know I do not). I mean, if all else fails, rely on Maple 12 and your laptop.

By the way, if you really insist on upgrading, buy a HP.

what is your major? You should definitely be fine with your 84-plus.

You might need to buy a cheap scientific calculator if you take a class like chem lab or econ 1. I’ve gotten by on my TI83 from 7th grade and my friends who are engineering majors seem to be doing fine with 83s as well.

having a scientific calculator is a good idea. Graphic calculators might not be allowed during tests, depends on your professor.

alright sounds good. ti-84 it is

By default, the most popular is TI-84s and you can definitely get through college with that (with the exception of some areas where graphing calcs are not allowed)
