what can an IB score of 35 get you into?

just curious ... what kinda colleges do students with around 35 points on the IB exams get into in your home country?

You could get into most Canadian universities with that score. It wouldn't get you much money or into a really prestigious program (top business schools, etc), but the fact that you took IB would help you, especially if your regular school grades were up to par. I've noticed that more and more canadian universities are starting to recognize IB as a more difficult programme.

wow that's a high score. i've heard that mcgill really takes your ib score into consideration and that duke loves ib kids.

Just a question... was that your predicted score?

haha no i'm a college student already. my actual IB Diploma score was 33 or 34 (i dont remember exactly, this was 2 years ago).

of course in retrospect i didnt know as much about college admissions as i do now, but i'm just curious to know how far such a score can carry you in other countries.

38 or above is preferable..from what i've heard.

In Malaysia...ppffftttt...they don't really know the IB there. It's all A Levels or STPM (Malaysian equivalent). However, in the UK, I heard it can get you into Edinburgh for Business...and..hmmm..trying to remember friends' conditonal offers. Mine were all 38/36 or something.

A score of 35 and above will give you access to the top tier universities in the UK (Russell Group). It goes like this:

39-42 = very top universities (UCL, Imperial, Cambridge and Oxford)
34-38 = top universities (other Russell Group and 1994 Group)
28-33 = ‘good’ universities

I am not sure how it goes in other countries, but what is said here applies to the UK unis.
