What can count as an extracurricular?

So besides tutoring kids, I play the piano (although I am not the best at all, but I do enjoy playing it) and I write A LOT. Like short stories, long stories...you name 'em. But I've never won an award for writing or anything. (Rather, writing is only something I do for fun and in my free time. I've been writing since I was five years old and I just love doing it. I'm practically always on my computer writing.) But I did start a Wattpad [which a website where writers share their stories and have other people read them] and have garnered thousands of reads on my book.

For piano, I have a piano teacher, but I think I'll end up quitting the class once school starts since I'm starting senior year and won't have time to dedicate myself to playing anymore. I've never won an award or been to any competitions before...it's only something I do in my freetime, like writing. But even without a teacher, I am still playing it. I'm more intermediate level.

So what I'm basically trying to say is, in order for something to constitute as an extracurricular, do I need some sort of solid proof to prove that it's an extracurricular? Like do I need medals/awards, proof from a teacher, etc.?

Because currently, my "extracurriculars" are only things I do at home and aren't a part of a program or anything. I am rather confused with the whole "extracurricular" thing. One of my counselor told me that you needed some sort of metal to prove that this is your extracurricular but my actual school counselor said otherwise.

Colleges don’t need proof for ECs, so there’s no need to present any sort of medal. Also, you can put down a family obligation as an EC; there’s a category for family responsibilities in the activity section of the CA.

So I’m kind of in the same boat with guitar. I don’t have a teacher that gives lessons so should I say “self-learned” or “self-studied” on the list. Or would it be best to just put “guitar” and then the amount of time?

Anyone have some Help?
