so I'm taking the SAT on december 3rd and I have been practicing for it for like 2 weeks now and took like 5 Prep test ... but here is the thing
I moved to U.S. last year and english is not my first language ... on all of the Prep tests , I scored 730+ on math and 650+ on Writing section and got 10+ on my essays , but when it comes to the CR my score is ridiculously low! And by low I mean low , like 480 !!o_O
Anyways .. I'm a Junior in high school right now ... do you think I still have time to improve my CR score or since I haven't been here for so long I can take the IELTS instead because I've heard some colleges do accept IELTS instead of CR score if the CR score doesn't reach what they want it to reach
And the colleges I want to go to are like USC, UChicago ,Rice and obviously I need to have a good score on the SAT to get into them ... So how can I improve my SAT score ? Or can I just take the IELTS ?

I think you’ll be okay. If you’re a junior right now, you have time to both keep working on practice tests and take the actual SAT a few times. I’m sure that by the time crunch time comes around for you (this spring, next fall) that score will have improved.

If you are a Junior, do NOT take the test next month. Not only is there no need, you are not ready. Sleep in. Do something productive. The CR is hard even for native English speakers. Do not take the SAT ‘for practice’. Only take it when you are fully prepared.

Pickup the ACT and try that English section. YOu might find it more to your liking than SAT-CR.

USC loves high test scores, so low ones will be noticed. Rice is much more selective, so low scores will be noticed there as well.

Never heard of IELTS.

^IELTS is british. I think the OP was actually referring to TOELF.
