Applying to UChicago,Yale, Northwestern, Northeastern, University of Michigan and USC.
My problem is i cannot include my school report with my application. Because it won't be available until April.
I got Teacher Evaluation from 3 of my teachers. (Maths, Physics and English) Actually my Physics teacher encouraged me to apply US university as i'm non-US. Can i ask him to fill counselor's forms in my commonapp? Can i include his name for both teacher category and counselor category? Please help me ASAP.

My situation was a little similar so here’s what I did. I applied EA to 8 schools (will be attending Uchicago in the fall) and most schools wanted mid-semester reports. However my school doesn’t actually do those. So my counselor took my mid-semester teacher comments and put those in. BUT ONLY THE POSITIVE ONES!!! Apparently it worked because I was accepted at every school (lots of safeties) and am going to my dream school (Uchicago). If you don’t have an actual counselor helping you in the college process just put his name in both spots because he’s the closest thing to a counselor that you have. Once accepted you have to send them your senior year grades to just send your school report when it’s ready to the schools that you’ve been accepted to.

What should my counselor do for the school transcript which is required in the application?

I had Combined Maths (Pure and Applied), Physics, Chemistry, General Information Technology and General English There’s no grading in my school. I did the G.C.E A/L exam and results are not revealed yet.

Send the school the list of classes you have taken in the past. Then I suggest you contact the schools that you are applying to and tell them the situation. Do you have any evaluation results from previous years? @niroshan

Here is my situation. My school is one of the leading schools in the country. My school administrators always say that they need to maintain the school’s standard, they make all the term exams very tough. So none my class mates performed well including me. If i try to send the report to the colleges it’ll be a big minus for me. Due to my school pressure i was unable to perform well throughout my last 2 years. But i have impressive academics record before my advanced level. I’ve got 9 'A’s in my O/L exam(‘A’ in all subjects). I became 5th in the country in a scholarship examination. I have participated in Asian Pacific Children’s convention in Fukuoka, Japan in 2006 too. I’ve done maths olympiad. Submitting my report before my admission is not good i think. What do you suggest me to do? Please help.

I suggest that you contact the schools and ask them what exactly they want to receive from you because you do not have a traditional transcript. However I suspect that they will still require a report that includes what you did poorly in because it is the closest thing that you have to a transcript and it will be easier for them to get a better idea of you who are as a student and make it easier for you to compare them so others. So even if it hurts you, you will probably still have to send it. But make sure they have your O/L results as those are very good. When you say you were unable to perform well your last 2 years that worries me a lot. The last 2 years of high school are what colleges look at the most because they like to see improvement and they like to see that you can handle a challenge, the first 2 years don’t actually matter that much. If you couldn’t perform under the pressure of high school I would be very worried about being able to manage some of your schools like Yale. Also what you did in 2006 colleges will not care about because it has no bearing on who you are now 8 years later. If you really did that poorly your last two years I suggest you find some nice safeties because you have some pretty stuff schools on your list. @niroshan

Don’t do these schools understand my situation and consider my academics with my SAT?

@niroshan Did you contact the schools? They consider both but academics are WAY MORE important than other test scores. You can get in with good grades and subpar test scores but it’s hard to do the other way around.

I don’t know what to do. My school almost ruined my life. Now i’ve to include some papers which represent my some marks at high school. But they’re not great. I’ll have to write them the reasons for the bad grades and request them to consider my standardized test score for academics. I don’t know whether it helps or not. I’m worried because they may reject me at the first view of my high school documents. They may not consider my explanation, as they have to select the best from thousands of applicants. Anything to say?
