What Can I Do If I'm Waitlisted?

Rutgers is one of my top choices of colleges I want to go to but unfortunately I've been waitlisted. I've been scourging the internet for help and a common response was that I should write Rutgers a letter. I will definitely try it but who do I send it to? Will they accept it?

And if not what are other ways I can make myself a more appealing prospect?

Well, my friend sent in his mid year grades to ernest mario (he was weight listed too). Did you try calling the admissions office? Talk to your guidance counselor for other things you could maybe do too, but that’s all I can think of.

Have your guidance counselor call admission to tell them that Rutgers is your top choice. A phone call from guidance can have a heavier weight than you calling. Which school did you apply to? If you applied to Business or Engineering, try to switch to SAS which is a little less competitive to get into. Good luck!

Hi Mellowhype, the best thing you can do as a student on a waiting list is achieve strong grades for the remainder of your senior year and submit your quarterly transcripts as they become available. In addition, make sure you have a back-up plan in the event that Rutgers is unable to admit your from the waiting list. All first-year students who have been placed on a waiting list will receive notification about their final status no later than early July. If spaces become available, all wait listed students are reviewed again and the most competitive students are admitted. Hope this helps.
