Hi I am in a really weird situation. My dream is to go to NYU but my high school credentials are all screwed up. My current GPA is a 3.4. I went to an American High School for 2 years. In my freshman year I did AP World and in sophomore year I did AP Bio. Then, I transferred to a high school in Israel. Since I do not speak hebrew they made me a 10th grader again. I am about to take the Israeli version of a sat test (which is accepted as a replacement in most universities including NYU) in English and Math. I do not want to go through 3 more years of high school so I also started taking my GED test and I plan to return to America. I am really confused and I don't know what to do, what can I do to get into NYU? I know GED isn't the right course in action but what would you do in my situation?

Take you SAT’s, do really well, and write to the admissions board of NYC explaining your circumstances. Most of the time, admissions officers are forgiving.

Check online…not all schools accept GED in replacement for a high school diploma. Make sure you have a well-rounded list of schools that you are interested that accept GED before making the choice to leave high school. I’m sure there’s international schools there so that could be an alternative to taking the GED. They teach in english and are probably full of Americans.
