The first 2 1/2 years of my high school career haven’t been the best. A month ago, my unweighted GPA was a 2.8 and my weighted a 3.2. I’ve taken online courses over the last month and now my unweighted GPA is a 3.03 and my weighted a 3.4. I’m planning on doing some more grade forgiveness (for a D in an honors course and another in a semester of an AP course). I plan on taking 3 college classes (11 credit hours) and possibly a few more online courses to raise my GPA further. Next fall, the beginning of my senior year, I’m taking 5 college classes, 1 AP course, and 2 honors courses. I’ll be taking it a little easier with 4 college classes, 1 AP, and 2 honors during my second semester. I’ve taken the SAT once, and I’ve gotten a 1430 on it. Is there hope for decent college/university, or should I lower my expectations? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
UPDATE: I’ve completed another online course, and my unweighted GPA is now 3.05 and my weighted GPA is 3.5.
continue what you’re doing to solidify your grades. As for decent college, you definitely are not out of the running. Now if we’re talking about like Ivies or something, then it will be very difficult but then again, getting into an Ivy/similarly ranked school is difficult for everyone
