what can I do with a BA in neuroscience?

I am currently getting into my junior year of college majoring in Neuroscience and I began realizing that if I don't get into a medical school, I have no clue what I would do! I love neuroscience, read research papers for fun, want to be a neurosurgeon, but despite my extracurriculars and internships my GPA is not very good and that could well be my ticket to the curb. My university only offers a Bachelor of Arts degree in neuroscience and that scares me as well. I was looking at trying to do a Petroleum Engineering minor but don't know if that would really qualify me for anything.

Is it hard to get into a graduate school to pursue a masters or PhD in neuroscience? I also have a lot of student loans (80k right now), would any program pay for graduate school? ANY help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you!

Can’t do much with a BA…go for a PhD. Try looking for fellowships or schools that offer graduate stipends (many do this). That way you don’t have to worry about paying it yourself.

Also consider audiology. Relative of mine did his undergrad in neuroscience and is now working on his Au.D.
