Alright I didn't do as well in high school as I probably should have. I'm probably going to end up going to Penn State and I'd like to major in finance. Now Penn State isn't on any of these crazy ass target lists for IBanking so what else can I do with my degree? Is there anyway I can do Ibanking at a smaller firm? I just want to get into a somewhat lucrative profession. As bad as it sounds money is the main thing I'm after and I really don't care how I do it.

Yeah, well don't feel bad about being after the money. Everyone on this forum is after it one way or another. We just make **** up, saying things like we're "passionate" about it, really ashamed to admit the truth. No matter how much we want to believe it, there is a that prime motivation. At first it was banking, now many students, including me, are going towards recession proof accounting; what's next? But, yeah, Taxguy really dud a phenomenal job hyping accounting... Anyway, I doubt any high school student 'really knows' what they "enjoy" doing.

I'd rather not dwell on motives to much, the main question still remains. If I go to a non target school can I still make big money with finance or no?

I think you're very lucky to go to Smeal, especially if your in state. IB is not everything... I can't afford Kelley, so I have to settle for U Tennessee or U Memphis for gods sake, saving money for my MAcc and/or MBA. Smeal, I'm sure, as a top biz school has it's connections. Someone more familiar will answer your question.
