What Can I Do with a Perfect PSAT Score?

I’m a sophomore and I got a 240 on my PSAT this past October (2014). I know the only PSAT score that counts is your junior year one, but are there any merit-based scholarships or opportunities that I could apply to? Or is there any academic/summer opportunity that would see my PSAT score as a “leg-up”?
Thanks! Just wondering

Just aim for the same score when you are a junior. Then aim for a high SAT score too.

I’d look into governor’s schools

Get that score in junior year to qualify for National Merit (there are some additional steps to go from semifinalist to finalist, where the best scholarships are available). This can significantly increase the availability of scholarships, such as those listed at http://nmfscholarships.yolasite.com/ .

At Starbucks, your perfect PSAT score and about $2 can get you a tall cup of coffee!

HAHA @adkdad! You should be looking at summer programs, IF you have the grades to back up the score. MIT has 2 summer programs((I’m talking about free stuff). The Naval Academy has one, though I think its $400 now, forgot the name. Look up academic summer programs on-line. If you got a summer program in, great for the resume.

You mainly have bragging rights right now. Was that score with or without prep? And like others have said, get that high of a score as a junior and you will be a shoe-in for NM.

Your sophomore PSAT performance doesn’t actually matter at all unfortunately. But it proves that you’re a great test taker
