what can I do with economics and maths?

I am a first year colleg student who is undecide about major and career.

I like maths a lot and I am pretty good at it( 800 for SAT1 and SAT 2). I am taking calculus 1 now...and I feel it is really easy. Meanwhile, I am taking principles of microeconomics and I am pretty interested in it. What can I do for career if I major in maths and minor in business?

I have considered being an actuary. But that really requires a lot maths. I am not sure if I can deal with number for my whole life. But one thing good about being an actuary is the great payment.

I have considered MFE( master of financial engineering). But I am not sure if I can get in one of the finest MFE schools such as California Berkley, Chicago U, Princeton, stanford....I don't think there is any point attending a just-so-so MFE school.

You guys have any suggestions for me?

Thanks a lot!

Wit h a good gpa in math/econ you can get into a consulting job, or hedge fund. Also, you can get into a PHD program in econ or one in operations research. It is a great combination especially if you do some courses in stochastic processes and comp sci.

math and econ go together very well. only after you move beyond the calculus sequence will you get a taste of abstract math, the type that you will need to be comfortable with later on. this will give you a good idea.
if you don't like dealing with numbers, maybe be a theoretical economist perhaps :). Then you deal only with roman and greek letters and leave the numbers for the empirical economists.
