I am currently a sophomore at Michigan State University and am looking to transfer to a smaller school in the northeast region, preferably around New York or Massachusetts. I am looking for a school with about 8,000 students or less, and preferably liberal arts, but that does not matter so much. Now here's the problem, I have a 2.35 gpa so my choices will be limited. Unfortunately my first semester at such a large university led to too much partying and not enough class time and I received a .85 gpa for that first semester. Since then I have been doing much better but it has been hard to get over that terrible semester as far as my gpa is concerned. I attended a renowned college preparatory school in Michigan where I was once again average, earning about a 3.0 gpa but I also got a 29 composite on my ACT. I know these two do not matter so much as a transfer student but they have to count for something. I played sports every semester in high school, attended a leadership program, have held a job and an internship, and am currently a brother of the Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity. Does anybody have any recommendations for a school for me given my requirements and qualifications? Small reaches and safeties are appreciated. Big named schools are important to my father so any that are in reach for me would be greatly appreciated. Also I am a white male. Thanks!
