I have a frige and microwave at my disposal, and also possibly a public fridge that has a freezer. Right now I wake up and have an hour to myself before classes to eat breakfast. I normally go to my dorm basement to make ramen, where theres comfy chairs, kitchen with said microwave and fridge, and a tv. In all honesty i'm getting tired of noodles, occasionally ill use my mealplan to get breakfast but i think its a waste, the breakfast served is not worth it.

So, any suggestions on what i can make in the morning for breakfast in 1hr? I have: microwave, refrigerator(possibly freezer), utensils, cups, but no plates. Theres also a stove but im not sure how to use it. I can probably go food shopping on the weekends to get stuff since we have free bus transportation to town.

Get some plates and then you can make waffles, pancakes, bagels, etc (really anything you can put in a toaster, you can put in a microwave except for toast maybe). If you get some bowls you can have instant oatmeal.

Or you could always skip the cooking and eat some breakfast bars.

How about some fresh fruit? Yogurt? (You’re eating ramen, so I’m assuming we’re not limited to “traditional” breakfast foods.) You could easily learn to hard boil eggs on the stove and store them in the fridge. The Scandinavians seem to like herring for breakfast, but I’m not sure I’d recommend that to start your day…

Buy a toaster and if the expiration date for the toast is near you could always put it in the fridge for an extra couple of days, you could eat it with ALL kind of foods whether its cheese and jelly or peanut and butter or egg or light butter. You can also warm up some waffles in the toaster and eat it with some syrup. Lastly, you could buy also your favorite corn flakes.

I can’t eat dairy, i like the waffle idea but im uneasy storing my food in a public kitchen. Maybe ill try microwaved bread with some kind of spread

You payed for the meal plan, that money’s already gone so you might as well go for meals in the caf.

In your dorm you can make bagels or toast if you have a toaster. Or toaster strudle. There’s cereal of course and oatmeal. Fresh fruit’s always good and I would guess that your cafeteria has that every day, so you could gather a supply from the caf whenever you run out and just keep it in your room. Then there are those frozen breakfasts you can just pop in the microwave whenever.
