What can I possibly do now

well I already got into stonybrook and bing. I dont want to go to these schools though because I ve worked way too hard in high school and have taken a very demanding courseload. I have a 700 chem after honors chem and a 650 1c. I am also considering CMU, NYU, JHU, UChicago, and Dartmouth(not getting in). I also will consider BU, BC, and UMD. However, my top chioce is Cornell

yes NYU is cool i go there now

hey I just got a letter from EOP asking me to fill out my income info and all. Will heop help? Do you think I can qualify?

bumpppppppppppppp

hey who is this?

i dont know you... bumpppppp

If you really wanted to do something, you could send a letter of interest so they will know that if accepted by Cornell, you will matriculate. I really wouldn't become too attached to Cornell or any other school because it is unfortunate that not everyone gets in. Also, as you may know, there was a 15% increase in the number of applicants. Good luck and keep us informed.

i might have missed this but...if Cornell is your first choice, why didn't you apply ED?

i am low income and the financial commitment would be too much for me and my family in the ed round.

I don't get it. Even if you get in RD, you still would have to pay whatever you would have paid if you got in ED.

well you cant apply heop for ed...only rd

cornell is need based so u could have applied ed. my friend applied ed to dartmouth go the whole thing paid for.

well also the time starting from sept to dec was tragic for me

the bad aspect of applying ed is that you cannot compare the aid. you can apply ed and you will get aid, but you won't know if it is comparable to the aid given by other schools.

so how do you guys think Ill fare in the rd round?

How many times have you asked this? We really don't know, we are not the admissions officers. You sent in your app, now chill. If it's meant to be then you'll get in. Either way, you'll get into a good school (assuming you applied elsewhere).

No offense, but I think you are stressing way too much. I've read your threads and know your situation, and I think I'd be in the same kind of panic, but I think you should just calm down. What we tell you about your chances won't affect your evaluation by the admissions committee. You've gotten plenty of opinions on your chances and well, I think all we can do is hope for the best now, right?

I don't mean to come off as an a-hole (If I did) but let's just wait it out. Anything can happen.

one final bumppppppp

i feel your pain, but most likely you wont get in with a 1270...good luck though

you need to calm yourself down and not get ur hopes up on a school that is a reach..i know this may sound kind of harsh, but you need to be realistic or else you are just setting yourself up for disappointment...
