What can Tag-alongs do during orientation?

I will accompany my daughter for orientation at FSU. I have paid for the two of us. Now her sisters want to come along, but I'm not excited about paying for two more people. Can they tag along and preoccupy themselves while I attend orientation sessions? Maybe meet up in between and for lunch/dinner? Thanks!

They will be bored out of their mind and honestly it will be a waste for you to pay for them to tag along.
There is really nothing happening on campus or around town for them to keep busy to be honest. Plus it’s a rainy week so it’ll make it even more dull for them.
There is a break for food which they can go along for but still they’ll be bored and better off just staying back until your daughter is officially attending then it would be a better time to visit for them.
I was at a one day transfer orientation and even the parents were bored out of their minds and twiddling their thumbs. Underclassmen orientation has more going on, but it’s only really worth it for the new student and good for parents peace of mind…but tag alongs aren’t really going to get anything out of it.

Don’t do it. It’s really that simple.

Orientation is aimed mostly at informing new students and their parents about college life, and the focus for parents honestly is mostly stuff that could be condensed and whittled down significantly. My parents went to Orientation and felt it was a massive waste of time (and money). There’s not all that much that parents learn that students don’t learn, or really there isn’t much that parents learn that isn’t readily available to any parent that spends 10 minutes on Google.

If you aren’t a student or a parent, I couldn’t imagine how excruciatingly boring Orientation would be, especially if you weren’t sitting in the sessions or anything. Campus is pretty dead during the summer, so there isn’t really anything for them around campus. They might be able to preoccupy themselves with a trip to the mall or some sight-seeing downtown… but that’s only going to hold their attention for so long, and certainly not for three days.

Really, just leave the extras at home. It’ll be your best choice. They won’t be annoying you the whole time about being bored.

They don’t check anything so don’t pay for them if theyre just gunna tag along. If anything drop them off somewhere were they won’t be bored out of their minds.

Thank you for the insight, I appreciate it!
