What can you do with a history major?

I have a friend who's basically in love with the history of the world, but doesn't want to major in it because, well, let's face it, there aren't many available options for a history major. I'm trying to convince him to still major in it because it's basically his passion and life.

I'd just like some ideas of what's available for history majors. This is what I have so far-
1. professor/teacher (he doesn't like it so much)
2. Curator

Thanks for any help.

Have a show on the History channel.
Write books.
Do research to investigate claims/questions about the past.

A major in history can also be beneficial to many professions- politics, journalism, law..

law? Hm... I'll sugest that one to him. It seems to be something he'd be interested in. Thanks. :)

My mom was a history major and went on to law school.

Law, business, foreign relations, politics, consulting. ANY field that requires the ability to write well and think critically.

Or he could go to med school too.

^That is the new trend

Yeah, he's definitely not interested in med... -_-;

But thanks for all the ideas. :)

I believe Henry Kissinger majored in History. :) History can apply to almost any profession - probably anything but business and science.

Law school-->Attorney
Business to a certain extent...
