You probably will want to retake the SATS. I dont know much about those liberal arts colleges, but everything else except syracuse would prob be a reach.

Are you high or just misinformed? The applicant has SAT scores beneath the 25th percentile at Chicago and NU. How can you say they are matches? Chicago’s 25th-percentile SAT CR+M is 1400, which means OP is 160 points below that marker. The chances are VERY low for acceptance at Chicago, and low for Northwestern, even with minority status.

You mentioned you might retake the SAT - i would recommend doing so. Especially since you’re 16 (i assume you’re a junior??) you have plenty of time to boost that score. Also, you mentioned it was one of the highest your school has ever seen, which means your HS might not be as competitive as other students’ schools that are also applying to this group of schools, making it tougher for you. though you’ve listed some pretty incredible schools, your ECs are strong and provided your schedule throughout HS has been rigorous, a 3.7 is reputable. Work on your SAT though, as amherst, williams, dartmouth probably won’t be thrilled with >2000

a 2100+ on the SAT would really help your chances, but a 200 point gain is pretty tough. Interestingly I’m in sort of a similar situation, i got a 2100 my first try and I think I may need a 2300 or so to compete at my top choices. Best of luck, haha.

Columbia, Chicago, Williams, Northwestern, and Dartmouth might be pretty tough. the others are certainly attainable (possible exception of UNC, which is absolutely brutal out-of-state).

Try to knock the essays and everything dead (Especially at Chicago, they look at essays even more than most schools).

I agree with emmazzz. You would need to increase your SAT to 2100+ even with URM to become a match for some of those schools.

Thank you everyone for the chances!! They are very much appreciated! Just a few more things.

1) I am in fact a senior.
2) I would also like to add Swarthmore College to this list as I’ve recently attended a weekend program here.
3) Just yesterday, I received a 720 on the math section of an SAT practice test. I’m hoping this is good a sign of good things to come! LOL.

Thanks again!

Bump just for the fun of it. Also, add Carleton College here. I did a similar program to Swarthmore’s here.
