What chances do I have in getting into a college?

Since my scores are low I don't know I would be able to get into..if you could list any university or college in VA or D.C. that would be greatly appreciated.
I don't feel confident at all with my grades, scores, etc.. My junior year has surprisingly dropped from the pretty good grades I received freshmen and sophmore year. By the end of sophomore year I had at 3.6 unweighted, 3.7 for the district and a 4.37 unweighted. I've transferred schools and states, so some of it is just I'm still adjusting. Still, I'm doing poorly first semester I earned a D+ in math, a C+ in AP U.S. History and the rest of my classes B -'s to B +'s. Anyway, here's my the classes I've taken or are taking and my scores, extra-curricular etc.

Algebra 1 Honors
Algebra 2 Honors
Geometry Honors
Adv. Algebra/ Pre-calculus
Introduction to Physical Science honors
Biology Honors
Chemistry Honors
AP Biology
English 1 Honors
English 2 Honors
English 11 (Academic (Regular))
AP Language and Composition
AP Human geography 3
AP World History 2
AP Psychology 4
AP U.S. History
Harp 1
Harp 3
Music theory 1
Music theory 2

Latin 1
H.O.P.E. (Health Opp through P.E.)

My psat scores (I'm going to take the SATs in June)(I know they're pretty bad)
9th grade – CCR 44, Math 31, Writing Skills 38
10th grade- CCR 530, Math 370, Writing Skills 440
11th grade – CCR 590, Math 450, Writing Skills 480
(I feel like my SAT scores will probably be around this range CCR: 650 Math: 510, Writing Skills: 530) maybe higher because of my two english classes.
Varsity Softball
Varsity Cheerleading

Key Club (2 years)
Hope Club
Yearbook club

My GPA at the school is 3.0 for the first semester. I'm not sure what it should officially be since my old school failed to send my transcripts and tell my standarized test scores even after both dad and school tried contacting them.

I'm pretty sure I have over 100+ volunteer hours (except I don't have the sheets with the hours on it, alas that is also at my old school) but I have proof that I have volunteered especially with organizations or charities like Ronald McDonald House, Multiple Scleroisis, Leukemia and Lymphoma, Special Olympics and Met Tent as well as with the school.

I also have at least 10 performances in my 2 years with harp ranging from school events to memorials.

Also with the AP classes if I don't get at least a 3 on two of them, then should I stop taking them because I'm not passing or for colleges would it look good that I'm at least trying? If I take AP classes these are the onese I'm going to take: AP Comparative Government/Government and Politics, AP Micro/Macroeconomics, AP Literature, AP Statistics, with Chinese 2, Latin 2, International Relations/African, Asian and Latin Studies and possibly theatre arts. Your advice is appreciated, thank you.

Actually, I currently found out my GPA is a 3.5 and I’m going to join NSHSS. So would that change anything?

If you’re talking about getting into college in general, yeah, you’ll find a spot somewhere, I’m sure. Everything is pretty average about your resume (if your GPA is really 3.5 and not 3.0), except for the test scores which, to be honest, are horrendous. If you have the opportunity, find a practice book on the internet or something. Anything. Get the scores up and you’ll be cool. If you want specific colleges, just hop on the ol’ google. I’d be stunned if Wikipedia didn’t have an article that literally gave you a list of colleges in your area.

As far as the APs go, it depends on how you’re doing grade wise with them at your High School. You don’t have to send in the scores for the exams, and if you’re getting a B range in them, it shows the colleges that you’re putting yourself through a college-prep curriculum… which is good. If, however, you’re getting Ds and Cs and it’s murdering your transcript, I’d stop taking them.

thanks, yeah I know my scores suck and my AP scores are within the A-B range.

First, don’t beat yourself up over your scores/grades. You still have a considerable chance to get into many colleges. Just start turning things around from here on and get your grades up to the best of your ability now. It’s not too late and you still have options. Here’s the good news, there are many schools that don’t require an SAT or ACT score and you may want to start to compile a list of them. Have seen it somewhere here on CC, but not sure where so do a search. We’re in VA/DC and one great option here is to start at Northern VA Comm. college and then transfer into one of the state schools after sophamore year. Also, look at Goucher and Guilford (no SAT, gpa around 3.1). I really think you can get back on track. You’ve just lost your way and your confidence needs some boosting. Focus on what ever makes you happy --do you have a talent? Passion? What ever gives you self-esteem and a good feeling about yourself, focus on it! Develop it more and you will begin to do better. It’s not too late!

Try the ACT perhaps?
