Im currently a junior and i have a 3.3 GPA. I got a 1550 on my SAT's and am MOST definetly taking them over again. I've been on varsity golf for 2 years, and will be on it my senior year as well. I was president of my class freshman and sophomore year and was also a very active member in the student council for both years. I have an average amount of community service done, and have been on National Honors Society for 1 year. Could this be good enough??

Question:
Is your SAT score a combo of the math and verbal sections or is it math, verbal and writing? If it's a combo of math and verbal, you're a lock!! If not, then you will need to boost your score quite a bit.

lol well unfortunately... its a combo of math verbal and writing. Standerdized tests have always given me problems. I just figured i could make up for it in extracaricular stuff, and hopefully AP test scores. So what type of score should i hope to get?

Aim for at least 1900. But your chances of admissions largely depends on the program. What is your intended major?

Ohh.. well now thats a bummer. thats quite an increase for me. but i'll do my best i guess. lol

What is your intended major?

Oh and I hope to get into the business program. Which im sure is a lot harder to get into

Yes, that's a more competitive program. As another option, you could apply undecided which should be less competitive and then transfer into the B-school as a sophomore(provided that you get good grades). The B-school could still be your number one choice on the admissions application with undecided as your back-up choice.

Good luck!

Alright well thanks for the advice. Now all i have to do is read a lot of SAT prep books.. woo hoo 8). Again thanks for the help

SAT prep books will only help so much... taking older versions of the exam and getting used to the actual format of the test is much more helpful...I found that after taking practice tests it wasn't so much the material that was helping me improve my scores... it was just familiarizing myself with the layout of the test and how to prioritize time. Learning how to take the test effectively will dramatically improve your scores alone...

Wow drakester you are pretty much a pimp. I'd say if you saw Omen on 6/6/6 then you are a lock...I mean how much more amazing can you get!?

But anyways I'd say you should borrow some prep books from a friend of yours...perhaps someone that will be going to a school starting with a C and their name starts with a B.

But on a serious note I have 100% confidence that if you DO study for the SATs you have a good chance of getting into Northeastern. That kid made a good point about applying as undecided...maybe you could do that. Good luck!
