What changes do I need to make to get in to UT?

I’m currently a student at the University of Louisiana Lafayette. I have a 3.6 GPA, and will have completed 30 credit hours by the end of the school year. I am wondering approximately what GPA I’ll need to have in order to be considered for admission at UT, as I know 3.6 isn’t high enough. I was also wondering if I would be able to complete the CAP program at UTSA my sophomore year if I were to transfer there, or if it was only for freshman (which is what I am right now.) Please help if you can, thank you!

UT reserves 90% of their admissions for Texas residents, which makes applying from out of state much more competitive. Plus, you’re paying triple the tuition going out of state. I’m not sure about the CAP program for out of state, but if you do manage to get in that way, you’re going to be stuck in a liberal arts major at UT. I think you can save yourself a lot of headache by just staying where you’re at.
