"In our society and others around the world, the definition of beauty is universal."

This is untrue. The definition of beauty changes over time and between cultures. Some features of beauty are universal, however.

I cant believe some ignorant fool said "must be the fried chicken".. joking or not... shaking my head

There are so many morons posting here. It's unbelievable. How do you get in those top tiers schools? I bet your daddies bought you a place, or that you copy a lot during tests. A middle school drop-out knows more than many of you morons. Just a question though. Since black women do not meet your "universal" beauty standards, how come Black models are on the rise? Is it because the poeple in the entertainment industry are less stupid than you? Has to be. You disgust me. Thank god most poeple I know are a lot more geneticaly advanced than you.
Have a nice day.

There's nothing wrong w/ being attracted to certain ppl over others. But I agree that its stupid to say that there's some universal way of beauty. I think African girls/black girls look good but in a different sort of way than girls of other races or ethnicities.

There are features that are universally appealling. It's actually a very mathematical thing.

what about indian girls?

No Fat Chicks.

I am not attracted to every girl I see you know. That's normal. What is wacko is when you tell me that a girl is only beautiful when she has very light skin, long hair, european features. So what do you think. Is Naomi Campbell beautiful? She is dark skinned you know, and according to YOUR "universal beauty standard", she is ugly. Go tell that to all her fans.
I have no problem with somebody not being attracted to black women (though I know there's not an ounce of truth to that statement); what I can't tolerate is when a stupid redneck tells me that black women are not attractive and that black poeple are geneticaly less advanced than the other races. That moran should know that the most diverse race on earth is the Black race. Since the Black woman is that ugly, go tell all the White and Asian women to stop going all those lenghts just to have their lips look like that of a black woman. Everybody is entitled to be stupid, and the morans here are abusing the privilege.

I think black women spend greater lengths (pun intended :)) on having their hair look like asian and white women than asian and white women spend on having their lips look like black women.

^ I agree with you on that one. And that's definitely something I hate. They let themselves into the idea that longer hair is beautiful. Yes, I do think it's pathetic. Why doesn't the Black man try to look like the White man? They did try when, in the fifties, they used to wax they hair: called it con (I read it in Malcom X). But they have come to see that nothing is better than being your true self. They chose to keep their true physical identity, and today they have their own style that nobody finds ugly. I wish the Black women could do that too.

you mean a conk (I read it too)

I'm a girl, but I have to say, I think healthy black skin is gorgeous. I'm a light-skinned Asian, but I have to say, if it looked right on me, I would KILL to have the complexion of Iman or Naomi Campbell.

That being said, I also love porcelain skin (Nicole Kidman or Marcia Cross), but I dislike tan.

Yes, thanx 13lueflame. Anyhow, the morans were saying that Black women do not have any attractive attribute, and I was merely proving them wrong with that example. Slim lips were the standard of beauty some years ago with pale skin as well. Today, white women want to have full lips, and they also spend fortunes getting tanned. If Black women could just be their natural selves, in the coming years, maybe there will be another change in what poeple perceive as beautiful hair.

so...been reading this..some of you have made me mad..others have made me happy to be who i am haha lol
Im of mixed race...black and white...the rare way (my mom is black and my dad is white) and i think because of that iim more open to all races. I like white boys...but not hte ones that only go for white girls...and im into black guys and latin guys and asian guys..i jsut like guys :)
and all you guys trippin over size...i hope u look good urself tryna to be picky with the types of girls you like...wait until ur 50 with a gut hangin over ur stuff, too greasy and fat to do anything but look at the type of girl u are describing...so lets not be shallow here

I'm a girl but actually I really don't find Naomi Campbell very attractive... and a bad attitude too makes it worse

Halle Berry and Vanessa Williams are very attractive to me but they're mixed.

Gabrielle Union is the only fully black woman I can think of now who I find attractive

It's odd though, I find black men extremely attractive

Like it or not guys, but fat chicks have a significant advantage over thin asian and white girls in terms of natural selection. In case a meteor strikes our planet, or some deadly plant-virus ravages humanity's food supply, or war and famine happen, fat girls are going to outlive all those thin asian chicks and dieting white girls, and so will their fat children. And all those very tall and extra thin supermodels are going to die out first.

that is an interesting way to look at it...

kihyle is right. Fat girls also have the advantage in bearing children. Without the intervention of modern medicine, skinny girls with narrow hips are more likely to have complications during pregnancy or die in childbirth.

Basically, if natural selection still ruled the human race, I would be at an evolutionary disadvantage ...

what about the increased risks of other diseases when you're fat? heart attacks? and whatever else has been linked to obesity.

what do you boys define as "fat"?

girls think they're fat when really, they're not.
