What cigarettes do you smoke?

well said menshevik.

i think what everyone needs in this thread is a good square so they can relax.
god.

and tenacious j i am not hostile and people dont get to me. i just tell it like it is and be blunt about it so maybe i do come off hostile. but what are u gunna do about it...haha jussstt kidding.

and to the person who posted about smokers breath..

i dont think there is a such thing really; i think that is more of a propaganda type theory.

serin, do you know anyone who smokes, cause there definately is a thing called smokers breath and it is nasty

You guys are so uptight. This guy was just asking a simple question.

agreed. don't make this so melodramatic-- "OMG your totaly gonna die if u dont quit it!!!!!1"

just answer the question if you smoke. and if you don't...stop crying...?

yes i know many people who smoke

smokers breath is easily eliminated.

honestly. i have friends who smoke others who dont. i personally dont smoke for personal and health reasons. however, just because I don't smoke doesn't mean I can force others not to smoke. heck I dont care if others smoke. its their choice and they can suffer the consequences. its a personal decision.

its better if 30% of the population died off earlier on. heck at least it will save the government social security monies.

btw i am not cynical, just thought id make a sarcastic comment.

Smokers breath isn't the only odor. It's all over the clothes and seeps out of the pores. Pretty damn disgusting.

sometimes i kill people because they smoke.

I don't smoke, but I'm not going to force people who do to stop, nor am I going to shove my opinions on to anyone.

I think everyone in this country, and this world would be a lot better off if they stopped worrying about the bad things people do to themselves, and start worrying more about the bad things people do to eachother.

Why is tolerance so hard to tolerate?

now when the old cc had one about drinking, no one treated the drinkers like this, but now that it's smoking, it's considered a whole different ballgame. You know what, you cannot predict what you'll do later in life, right now, you feel something, but feelings change, and they produce actions.

Yea, okay maybe shoving your opinions on other people is annoying to them, but I think WE have more of a right to do that than smokers do to endanger the lives of everyone around them with their nasty habit.
Anijen, smoking IS a bad thing people do to others, they just don't think about the consequences when they are defending it. Spending one hour in a car with a smoker and inhaling the second hand smoke is worse than smoking three cigarettes yoruself. My grandmother died from lung cancer caused by second hand smoke, and so do thousands of other people every year. So before you start whining about US leaving YOU alone, think about all the people you endanger every time you light up.

As someone who believes in science, I rely mostly on empirical evidence to believe anything. And other than statements from the gov't, (which tend to be exaggerations anyway,) I don't think I've seen one nonpartisan, nonprejudiced piece of evidence that shows second hand smoke is more dangerous than smoking.

If you show me that piece of evidence, then I will consider myself corrected.

Also, if you're complaining about being killed by second hand smoke, then don't hang out with smokers. That is your choice, and you have no right to whine about the slight possibility that harmful molecules will randomly float through the air to your nostrils when most smoking areas in the country are designated, or else can be easily avoided.

Let people be, go cure AIDS with all of your excess energy or something.

Yeah, go tell the 7 & 10 year-old brothers to runaway from home so they don't get second hand smoke from their mother. It's not quite that easy.

Alcohol is worse than cigarettes.

anijen21, the claim was not that 2nd hand smoke is worse than smoking. the point is that it hurts people. that's why smoking causes such a ruckus while alcohol doesn't. there is no such thing as 2nd hand drunkness.

well i would have to say more people suffer from people being drunk than people smoking

ya know

drunk driving stats and such

There's no way alcohol is worse than cigarettes. Alcohol does not harm you if you simply drink it; however, if you smoke even on cigarette it adversely affects your health. Sure there are some alcohol abusers out there, but they are in the minority. Whether you abuse cigarettes or not, they still are bad for your health.

I just have to say, my good friend's sister died from second hand smoke. SHe had such a severe asthma attack she died. I don't care if a person smokes, seriously it is not my choice if they want to screw up their lives... but just one thing, don't smoke in public places OR near other people you care about

um benz ur wrong.

alcohol hurts your liver and your brain
and yes it can kill u

have u heard of alcohol poisoning?

Yeah, if you abuse alcohol it may harm you, but most responsible people don't abuse it; hence, they don't have to worry about harming themselves. In fact, many studies have come out that actually recommend drinking a glass of wine a day because of the anti-oxidants that are in wine. Surely this wine has alcohol in it.

With that said, whether you smoke 1 cigarette or 100 cigarettes a day it will still harm your body.

So since alcohol can kill you sometimes, maybe we should include automobiles being dangerous to our health too? I mean, since I drive a car everyday to school my risk for respiratory diseases, cardiovascular diseases, etc. are higher than someone who smokes cigarettes. Let's not stop there, we can even include Windex and furnaces.
