What city in the US should I go for college?

I do not want to have the hassle to own a vheicle and people look up to the public transportation. Can you give me some recommendations?

Most cities have some public transportation and most schools, even those in the suburbs or small towns, offer some transportation to nearby cities. You need to be a lot more specific about what schools you are looking at.

Students in Boston, NYC, San Francisco and Chicago often don’t have cars, and are fine with public transportation and zipcar (hourly rentals.)

My son looked at Boston, NYC, and Pittsburgh. He now goes to school in Pittsburgh (w/o car) and enjoys walking and using the bus system.

I am thinking of the three schools outside Louisiana (I am in Louisiana)
Southern Methodist University (SMU) - Dallas
Georgia Tech - Atlanta, and
Fordham University - NYC

I believe those schools are relatively easier to get in comparing to Rice, Yale, and Duke, and the fact that they are very good (not fancy, btw) schools.

For Fordham, it is not my concern. NYC is super-metro, so…you know.
For Georgia Tech, I have to worry because public transportation is not very great. That’s why I have to worry about “Is Zipcar reliable and affordable source of car rentals?”.
For SMU, I also worry because I don’t know so much about DART rail system.

Delete the post above please because I separate it to a new topic.
