I wouldn’t waste your time and money at a 4 year, if that’s what you’re planning on doing. If this is just an outside interest I would go to your local community college and take courses there. Then major in what will get you a job, or so you say, at the college you attend.

Maybe consider majoring in a more “practical” field (science? polysci?) and adding a double major or minor in film. That way, you’d graduate with a “useful” degree, but you’d also be able to take many classes in film.

It looks like you already have a great start with your own business.

The answer to your question depends greatly on WHY you want film classes. What is it that you hope to learn? What “job” or career would you like to have?

Once you figure that out, then you can search the available schools (over 700 worldwide!) to find the one that offers the curriculum YOU need in order to help you toward your goals.

Find the schools that interest you most and contact them with specific questions regarding what it is YOU want to achieve. Also, most schools have alumni departments so ask to contact some current students and graduates so you can get feedback from those who have already gone through the program.

It’s also important to note that a diploma will NOT help you get a career in the film industry. The professional industry is built primarily on word-of-mouth. What’s important is who you know and who knows you and what you can do. Personality counts for a lot as well because production schedules can be long and frustrating. The very nice person has a better chance of being called for work than the skilled but irritating person.
