What class should I take?

I'm starting UCF in a few weeks (the summer term) and I was wondering if I should take precalculus or chemistry. I've already taken precalc in high school and I definitely wouldn't say it was hard. And when I took chemistry in high school, I did not learn ANYTHING because.. well long story short, I ended up having a teacher who couldn't speak english. So which course would be better for me to take during the summer?

BTW my major is biomedical science

I wouldn’t take pre-calc since it requires you to do a certain about of MALL hours per week. (Hours spent at a computer lab doing online homework and such.) I wouldn’t take chem over the summer if you aren’t familiar with the concepts though.

you don’t think that they’d reduce the MALL hours because of the shorter time period?

MALL hours during the summer is at least 5 hours per week as opposed to 3 hours a week during the fall.

If you take CHM 2040 in the Summer (you can’t take 2045), I’d advise that you don’t take anything else. That class is going to be at the same pace as the 2045 class is in the fall/spring terms. Moreover, Dr. Hernandez is teaching it iirc, who is very challenging. You will NOT breeze through that class if you haven’t taken a high quality chemistry class before.

Actually I found out that Dixon is gunna be teaching the chemistry class and I read some really good reviews about him… And can someone explain to me what exactly are MALL hours? Is it something I do online or in a class maybe…

You have less class hours and you have to go to the MALL in the Math and Physics building. You do your homework there for the minimum time. You can break it up into smaller intervals, but you will lose grade points if you don’t do them.

Also, you’re right about Dixon teaching it. He’s a good professor, but that class will still be difficult.
