I'm a freshman looking to transfer to a top school. This quarter I have As in 3 classes close to my major (Poli sci and Econ) and a B in Calc II (There's no way to raise it). I took three courses over the summer, and received two As in Econ and theater history, but a B+ in Calc I. I plan to take a course over winter break.
My question is whether I should take Calc III next quarter if I don't think I can do better than a B+, or take an upper division Poli sci class that I think I can get an A in. I'm just afraid it'll look like I'm running away from Calc, or that I lose a chance to redeem my Bs with an a in Calc III.
I'm at UCSD and I'm hoping for Georgetown.

I can see where you are coming from. You are in the position of picking whats the right option for you. The thing is,admissions would like to see you continuing on with the calc series if its something you need. If you suddenly just stop taking it and take another class, it will raise red flags.
