What Class Should I Take?

There was a thread like this a couple days ago, but I want to explain my situation and ask for advice. Anyway...

Should I take Band in my senoir year and have band 4 years in high school? Or should I drop it in senoir year and double up on an AP Science (which probably would be AP Chem).

You see, I play the clarinet. I just got into our school's top band (Wind Ensemble), and I'm the only one there in my grade that in marching band, so that means when I'm a senoir, I will be section leader of the clarinets. I'm not going to major in music or anything, I'm leaning towards science. So should I drop band in senoir year and loose the chance to be section leader and double up on scince or do band all 4 years of high school and just take one AP science (AP Bio)?

I probably made a molehill into a mountain, but whatever...

do you have a passion for band? Throw out all this college talk, and figure out if you really love band. You shouldn't drop a passion or love, or even something you just enjoy just to look good or get some advanced credit, but if band isn't something you're really dedicated to, than I would drop it.

maybe you should learn how to spell "senior"

And I'm sure you're error free too, bluemuffin...

^yeh, i agree... besides, you shouldn't be mean to begin with, and especially not with ppl u don't know very well

anyhoo

i think u shoudl take band... many colleges credit that a great deal (for one colege, u can check extra cirrcular activties that u have... such as key club, band, sport, and band is included in the list!)

imo stick with band, as an oboe player in the concert band, orchestra and chamber ensemble and a piccolo player in the marching band, i can tell you from experience that marching band is more fun than chem homework, and makes a MUCH better inspiration when it comes to essays/interviews, if you want to think along the college lines. DONT WASTE HIGH SCHOOL. you only get to do it once, and dropping band is something that youll regret when you graduate. getting into college is not going to hinge upon whether you take AP chem or not, so have fun!

stick with music, stick with marching band, enjoy yourself, being a section leader looks good on an app anyway. loL.

yea, stick with your passion. Regret's the worst feelin u can have out of all this.
