is that calculated as qtr units? I’m on semester system, but my diff eq is 4 units, ochem 4, bio 4, physics 4, and Italian 3. so 19 semester units.

I was assuming for semester units. For most of the CCs in socal (I’ve been to a few) Physics, OChem, Bio all with lab and any foreign language are considered 5 semester units each. Diff Eq is usually considered 4 units so that’s where I got the approximation from. Where do you go if you don’t mind me asking? It seems weird that the unit count is so different. That seems like that would be really significant when transferring if you could get 60 units more easily at one college than another.

hmm yeah idk. I go to a community college in Arizona called Chandler-Gilbert Community College.

Hmmm interesting maybe it’s just the difference between the states. Perhaps that’s just another reason why it would be more difficult to transfer from OOS than in California. It seems like it’d be much easier to get to the 60 unit total if we get an extra semester unit for our physical/life science lab classes and two extra units on foreign language. Either that, or there has to be a difference in curriculum or semester length?

Maybe length, but I strongly doubt there is a difference in curriculum as I have done thorough research to know what topics are covered in my classes in even the most prestigious universities to make sure I’m not getting skimped out and we pretty much cover everything.
