What classes are you taking this semester?

I’m a freshman pre-econ major.

My first quarter consists of:
Microeconomics
Theatrical Design (Art GE, although I am incredibly excited for it!)
Oceanography (Science GE, I don’t really need it though, mostly a GPA buffer)
Statistics

My AP scores didn’t come in time for my orientation, so my choices were extremely limited. I was placed into Calc 2, but by the time my scores arrived, the class was full. Luckily I’m on the quarter system and have plenty of time to take that class. Theater and Oceanography are basically just GPA buffers for my other major pre-req courses, since they’re both on a really harsh curve.

I’ll be a freshman this fall, Math/Comp Sci double major.

-Honors Math I (Mainly introductory analysis, possibly with some other topics thrown in)
-Discrete Math
-Programming and Introductory Data Structures
-Russian I

17 credits total. The math classes shouldn’t be too hard, but I’ve heard that the Data Structures course is pretty intense. Plus it’s been a while since I’ve done that much programming.

Incoming freshman, dual-major in History & ESL

Intermediate Spanish II (SPAN 202) - tested out of school’s language requirement, but being proficient in a second language and culture is necessary for my major. I’ll be 2 years ahead of my fellow majors (if there are any?) so this is exciting.

Great Discoveries in Science & Lab (PHYS/BIO 103) - science for non-majors that focuses on…well, great discoveries. short lecture, short lab. doing it for the 1 science class graduation requirement. Pretty excited for this class.

Schools in an Era of Change (EDUC156) - somehow managed to squeeze into the intro to education class. Really excited that I get to jump into my major early on.

First Year Writing & First Year Seminar - blah blah blah. Am already good friends with a girl in my writing class so it’ll be fun.

Total: 16 credits, max for first semester freshman.
On a waitlist for PSYC101, won’t get it because schedule is full.

At first, I was really upset because I had planned on taking 2 history classes, only to find that World Civ I was full (and the waitlist was full, yet they didn’t add another section even though it’s an intro class?!?) and another class overlapped with my education class. However, I thought about it and accepted that it’s more important that I have the above classes as they’re all huge major and graduation requirements. Also, my schedule is ridiculously light.

Going into my 4th year. History major with 3 minors (music, coaching, psychology). This schedule lists as 16 credits, but I completed almost all of the practicum work over the summer (I only have to do a few write ups and make sure all my papers are in to the state) so it’s more like a 14 credit schedule.

-Introduction to Dance
-Early Modern Europe
-Global Film as History
-Coaching Practicum (completed the practicum portion this summer)
-Human Sexuality
-Social Psychology

I’m a IB & GSCOM double major:

 • Business and Professional Speaking
 • Finite Mathematics
 • Principles of Microeconomics
 • Elementary Chinese Mandarin
 • Introduction to Financial Accounting

15 hours, not to hard except for FA which is supposed to be a GPA killer. I’m thinking about taking a Management Science course as well. (oh and all are honors, except math, which I plan to make honors)

I’m a sophomore.
Major: Psychology
Minor: Education

Speech - 3 cerdits (I’m sooo nervous since I’m pretty shy/quiet lol.)
Education 102 - 3credits
Religion 075 - 3 credits
Interplindecary Studies 175 - 3 cerdits
Graphic Color & Art - 3 credits

15 credits total

Taking English because I need some kinda of a break :)

At my LAC, 4 classes per semester is standard.
