What classes should I take at my CC next semester to transfer to a UC?

I already finished all of my GE at a CSU but am going to a CCC so I can transfer to a UC. I want to major in political science. I have like 5 classes of prerequisites I need to take but I somehow need to get to 60 units to transfer. I am applying to UCLA, UCSD, and using TAG to get into UCSB. I would love to get into UCLA. What classes can I take to make more more competitive? I was thinking of taking precalc and calc 1 and 2. Also, I was considering taking the prerequisites for a history major as well so I could double major but I am not sure I want to double major. Any suggestions on how I can get to 60 units? I currently have 26 transferrable units from my CSU (got my transcipt reviewed by a CCC councilor). I have 22 units from AP tests but those dont count towards transferring. Any suggestions on what I do?

Why don’t your AP scores count toward transferring? You should take classes that you think you’ll do well in to get good grades. Take a summer and winter course as well. I’m in the same position so I have to take classes during the summer and winter, as well as taking 5 classes next spring. Just make sure you get at least 60 units or you WILL be rescinded to UCLA.

Check assist.org for pre-reqs. It’ll tell you what’s equivalent at your CC and it’s a fast way to see different requirements for all the UCs you plan to apply to.
