What classes should I take for senior year?

So far, I signed up for
AP Lit
AP Econ/Gov
AP Pyschology
Multimedia (giving myself at least one fun class)

Now, should I take AP Statistics or AP Calculus AB if I want to major in Pyschology in college?

And should I take a free period or Spanish 3??

I want to get into any possible UC’s. Thanks

itsmenicolez,
Ponder no more. I see your currently in high school and wondering about what classes you should take your senior year in order for you to be admitted into a UC. To begin with, your most certainly in the right track by choosing Advanced Placement courses. I suggest you choose wisely and commit to your decision. Dropping out of a class would look rather weak on a transcript and disappoints UC’s. If your asking who am I to criticize, I’m currently in my fourth year of college. I attend Stanford located in California and I’m majoring in Bio-Engineering. As to you… here are my suggestions, now this isn’t hypothetical but you should definitely not be considering a Free Period if you desire to attend a UC. Colleges admire students who take challenges and do more than what they are asked for. You won’t be the only one applying to colleges and maybe the other applicants who took on a full schedule, will end up getting admitted instead of you… just because of that one extra course. And take it from me, always go above and beyond. Colleges ADORE it. Therefore I advise you to take Spanish 3, anything is better than a full schedule. Now, I’m not one to major in psychology but if you’re looking for that major and wish to take on that role the best Mathematics course to take is Ap Statistics. No question, word problems connect and intertwine with psychology Gravely. AP calculus is great course but if your looking for psychology, AP stats is the better option. I hope you learn from my advice and eventually get accepted into the University you’ve been hoping for.

Sincere Regards, local Stanford geek.

Spanish 3 and AP Stats in your case. However, do not take the credit and “retake” Stats in college, because college statistics is more thorough than the AP course and would provide a better background for more advanced stats (which you’ll need to do if you’re serious about psychology).
