What classes should I take in freshman year if I'm an undecided major?

I have absolutely no idea what I want to major in. I took pre-calculus in high school and I actually found that really fun AND I really enjoyed chemistry and science up until I took AP Chemistry (that was a nightmare). I also heard that business administration is a really good thing to go into even though I've had absolutely no experience with business thus far. The classes that I'm registered for are chemistry, calculus I and writing so I still have one more spot in my schedule. I have no idea what other classes I should take to prepare for future majors though. I heard that I should take classes that overlap with what I'm interested in but I seriously can't come up with anything. Help?

You essentially have two options. One: take another general education requirement. Unless you’ve filled up the others with AP credit, take another gen Ed so you won’t need to take it later. You will need to take a Pluralism and a Global Interdependecies course no matter what. Two: take a course you are interested in. It doesn’t have to be major related since you are undecided, but take something you think you will enjoy. It can even overlap with the gen Ed that you need.

I’m assuming you are in Harpur College. Because of this you cannot take business courses, so unless you are considering a dual degree program or the Business Adjunct program, you won’t be able to take business courses.

I recommend English electives, 100 level philosophy courses, or an intro history course.
