I'm currently a sophomore in high school, and I was wondering which classes would colleges like to see more? I'm a part of my school's newspaper and that takes up a period, which means I'd have to drop AP Biology. Would it be better to drop news and take bio? I'm really interested in newspaper, and biology doesn't actually appeal to me; if I take it, I'd be taking it just to take an AP class, get it over with. Which looks better on college apps though, to have taken AP bio (assuming I get As both semesters), or three years worth of involvement with the newspaper?

well if you like writing so much, might as well do that, at least if you’re applying for a major related to writing. if you think you can handle ap bio, just do what i did and try to get some of your writing published. I’m currently a writer for an online magazine that just started up and i plan to inflate that in my essay, haha, even though i’ve got plenty of ECs and i’m not asian…
