I think it’s too much - Chem 4A is pretty hard, as well as English R1A. Put that with Math 1A and I think that’s a full load.

Yes, drop the sociology. You are going to be very busy with the classes above.

gah.. then i would only have 13 units..

take a decal or seminar or a 2 unit course. international area studies 20 covers intl studies breadth and its P/NP only.

hmm cause i wanna finish up my american cultures requirement..
Also what’s offered @ summer school..? would that be a good time to catch up on some credits~

Intl Studies breadth… hmm do i even need that for College of chemistry? i don’t really know our requirements yet… ><

By pass/no pass.. that has no effect on gpa right?

I don’t think 17 is too much…it’s what CoC recommends…to get English & breadth out of the way…

Certainly, you can taking an AC course during summer school at some time in the next four years. You could probably even do it at a community college if you can find one with a trasnferrable course. Overloading yourself your first semester isn’t advisable, especially since Chem 4A is so difficult.

You can always sign up for a course and then drop it later if you can’t handle it. Or you can take it P/NP.

What do you mean by take it P/NP. Do all classes have that option? What’s the difference besides having a grade or no grade..?
I’m getting mixed responses >< lol
I think I’ll try 17 units.. I’ll evaluate myself in a couple weeks..and go on from there. Deciding to Add/Drop. How long do I have again to add/drop a course? 2 or 3 weeks or so?

Uh oh…I also was going to take 17 units…

Chem 4A
ChemE C96
Math 53 (depending on AP score)
English R1A
History 7A

rofl…'cause the CoC announcement suggested 17 units for fall semester of freshmen year. Well, to the OP, we’ll get advice at CalSO anyway..

hah yea.. You’re going to CalSo Today right?

Yeah, the 20th and 21st. Maybe I’ll see you there! :O

haha yeaa o.O

…not like I would know it’s you or you would know I’m me..haha ^____^

P/NP doesn’t affect your GPA. However, if you’re applying to law school, the admissions council apparently treats and calculates a NP as a F and a P as neutral according to my advisor.
