I really want to transfer to UChicago next year. I read on the website that there are math/sci requirements for graduation, but since I'm not planning on majoring in any math/sci field, I think I would take that environmental sci (I think that's what it was) course that consists of several classes over the 4yrs. I'm a freshman at Colgate University, and was wondering what class(es) I should take now to get a head start/so I don't fall behind next year if I do transfer.

Thanks so much for your help, I REALLY appreciate it!!

they say u should take classes as close to the core as possible...like really general classes and classes that arent so specific that they dont offer it at u of c. also, if you have any bad grades frm high school take a "make up" class and do well in it.

just wondering...why dont you like colgate?

Taking classes with the intention of transferring to Chicago, especially given that Chicago is hard to get into as a transfer, sounds like a really bad idea.

Diocletian, I think it sounds like a great idea.

Take sicence with a lab, math, language, civilization, humanities, and social sciences. Make sure you're getting a good breadth of disciplines. Also, just take things you're intererested in.

Really? What if taking those classes is a detriment to the pursuit of a degree at that school? Taking classes for the sole purpose of boosting your odds of transferring or getting more credit at Chicago after transferring could really backfire if you don't get accepted as a transfer.

i think theyre just talking about the credit that the OP wants to recieve...which ultimately would add to his chance of getting in. but arent most freshman classes generally non major specific thus not really affecting (in a negative way) pursuit of a degree?
