I am picking out my classes for junior and senior year right now, and this is what I have so far:

Junior year:
-English III AP
-Biology AP
-Pre-Calculus Pre-AP
-Music Theory AP
-Spanish III Pre-AP
-SOMETHING
-Cross Country

Senior year:
-English IV AP
-SOMETHING
-Calculus AP
-SOMETHING
-Spanish IV AP
-SOMETHING
Cross Country

In the spaces labeled "SOMETHING", I need to pick out classes. My choices are as follows:
Physics B AP, Physics C AP, Chemistry AP, Anatomy and Physiology of Human Systems Advanced, European History AP, Computer Science Pre-AP, Statistics AP, or Psychology AP.

I'm leaning towards Physics B AP, Chemistry AP, Statistics AP, and Psychology AP. Has anyone taken both AP Physics and Chemistry in the same year? What about both Calculus and Statistics on the same year? What classes do you think colleges would like or would be most beneficial? Thank you!

Kid, you sure you can handle all those AP classes…cause’ when you fail them, I am going to tell you that I warned you.

Don’t take Physics B, you can’t. You don’t even have Pre-Calculus done yet, and Calculus I is pretty much needed for Physics B AP. As a result, you can’t even take Chemistry and Physics yet. I recommend, if you are are GOOD at math (yes in caps), skip Pre-Calculus and go to Calculus AB. But, only if you can take a placement test and teach yourself trignometry and a small bit of Calculus (limits, deriavtives, vectors, etc.)

You are not going to make it through Chemistry AP, unless you want to self study yourself…

Sorry I wrote that really fast and I made a few mistakes haha. I am also considering Medical Microbiology/Pathophysiology and Education I (A class teaching teaching methods, has internships in schools). The most AP classes I want to take senior year is 5, and I am thinking about taking an off period to have more time. At my school, you have to take pre-cal junior year, and calc senior year, and that is the “Advanced” plan. I am good at math, and mostly want to know if physics or chemistry senior year would be best. I have already taken intro-level biology and chemistry pre-AP and physics at a college for dual high school and college credit. Some classes (like English and Math) are very strong for me, and I will be fine with them. I was curious as to take more science or social studies courses, and which would be more beneficial. Thank you so much for your opinion, and I’m sorry I couldn’t edit my post, it was too late after I realized.

Also I’m in a very competitive district/school, so it is very common to see juniors/seniors taking around 5 AP classes.

I thought Physics B was algebra-based physics and Physics C was calculus-based…

@paul…Physics B is algebra based. It’s Physics C that requires Calc AB…however i agree the OP shouldnt do it because he hasn’t even done a first year Physics in…so yeah OP, don’t put yourself out there too much

@OP…why is there no history class in your 11th or 12th grade. If anything, English, History, and Math are the three subjects that colleges want 4 years in. 11th grade -> fill that something with AP US History. 12th grade -> fill something#1 with AP European History…but i am confused as to why there is not either AP Government or AP Economics as some of your choices…if there is though, definitely do one of those in your senior year; for something #2, do AP Chemistry and for something #3 do Anatomy.

By the end of this summer, I will have all of my history requirements (World Geography, World History AP, and College level U.S. History, Government, and Economics) complete, so I will not have to worry about taking any more history besides an elective history course (which would be European History AP, which may not even be offered at my school depending on class enrollment).

And concerning physics, I have already taken basic college level physics at a nearby college for dual high school/college credit.

gawsh why didn’t you say so
Junior Year’s something = AP Statistics
Senior Year’s something #1 = AP Physics B, #2 = APCS, #3 = Anatomy (do biology path…don’t do chem)

Thank you and haha sorry I completely forgot to mention history. My one question is, if I take those classes senior year, will the colleges notice, and when transcripts are sent in, do they see what classes you take senior year? And would this be considered a strong academic plan?

yes they’ll see it. but don’t do entirely all AP’s or colleges will easily identify you as those AP-obsessed students. have at least 1-2 regular, easy classes in senior year. your courses should be fine.
