What classes to take

Hi I'm a junior in high school and I want to know if taking ap calculus is a necessary class to take for good colleges, such as UCLA, berkeley, and USC for example. I am currently taking AP bio, AP stats, AP Spanish, and AP Lang, with regular history. If I wanted to take calc next year I would have to take trig over the summer and I don't think I will be able to because I have a lot going on during the summer. If I don't take calc I would have AP chem ap gov ap Econ ap lit and ap art history. Would those classes make up for me not taking calc? Please help.

“good colleges” expect viable applicants to be taking as rigorous a schedule as possible while doing well. Are you planning not to take ANY calc next year? Are you possibly going to a math, science or technical field to major? If the answer is YES, then you should definitely take AP Calc. If not, you might get away with not taking AP Calc but you should also know many of your competitors (even in not STEM majors) are in the highest level of math possible. This effects how you compare to them…

Could you omit AP Art Hist or another?

I have to take art history for my fine art. I was intending on majoring in biology or a field related to biology. Would I still need to take calc. And if I do decide to take calc it would be calc AB.
