Are there any colleges I can get into with a 2.4 Gpa and have a high chance of getting in?
What state are you in?
Your local community college is one very good option.
Home State?
Freshman or Transfer?
SAT/ACT scores?
Intended major?
HS course rigor?
College Budget?
Plenty. List the information as suggested above and you will have some good ideas sent your way.
But not to be mean in any way. Unless there’s some other things happening you didn’t mention, you gave no effort. College might not be a great idea right st this time.
If it was simply effort, you better pick it up quick. And why not start now in the last months of this year. Assuming you’re not a senior.
College may be tough. Not going to college right away doesn’t mean you’re not smart and talented. It just might be in something else is your strength. We have kids going to boat building school. Become master craftsmen and master electricians.
There’s also the military. It’s been very useful for many to build work ethic and find out what you want in college. And coming out of the military there is the GI bill and gives you a bit of hook. Plus loads of maturity.
Good luck.
I am thinking along the same lines as @privatebanker.
There are three very important questions which have not been asked in this thread: Why do you have a high school GPA of 2.4? Do you have specific ideas regarding how to do better in college? Why do you want to go to college?
Do not go to college just because you have reached the end of high school and don’t know what else to do. College, even community college, is going to be more difficult than high school. You will need a community college GPA that is higher than 2.4 to transfer to a good 4 year university.
I think that you should be thinking about the various options that are available to you.
You can do an internet search for “colleges that accept everyone”. They’re out there, and some are located in some nice places. However, there is no financial aid, so if you are not mature enough or are not yet emotionally invested in performing well in your academics, attending would be a costly mistake. The previous posters had some ideas that you should consider before this one. I just felt that you should know all your options.
I’ve known some kids with lower hs gpa’s that bloomed academically in college and some that graduated but took six years, so don’t be discouraged from trying.
Look into public liberal arts colleges. Google coplac.
^ good idea.
MCLA in Massachusetts and Mansfield PA would be ok.
NYS has CC’s with dorms (look up TC3).
However the basic questions remain: what happened?
University of Lynchburg.
