I'm looking for a college that has the best, or a very good, cultural anthropology program, an excellent study abroad program, and very good financial aid.

What makes one school great may not be exactly the emphasis you want. There are schools with super reps, eg, that emphasize statistical research and others that have their own leanings. So, as you get ideas, be sure to check the course catalogs to see the actual classes offered. And if the backgrounds of the profs, and their research activities match what you are interested in. We ran into all this when trying to find schools for D1’s unusual subfield.

I think that Duke would be an excellent fit for you. It has one of the strongest Anthropology programs in the country and about 50% of the student body studies abroad during their college year. Its financial aid program is one of the most generous in the country too.

Have you looked into Vanderbilt’s program?
