What college is right for me? Florida bound!

Hey, I've recently asked a question on this site before so I apologize for not asking everything at once, I'm just so flustered with all the stuff going on in my 12th grade of high school.
So I decided my golden egg school that I'd really want to attend is UCF, however after more research it seems that I may be on the lower end of the acceptance rates.

My SAT is 1690 (610R 530M 550W) I may or may not take it again depending on when I submit my applications.
My GPA (The problem!) is 3.15 weighted, 2.9 Cum. I screwed up in my freshman year. My senior schedule has AICE psych, AP gov/econ, Physics honors, law studies and some more regulars. Im not really in any clubs or anything.

I need help figuring out which colleges I can get accepted to, and which ones I want to attend.
I plan on attending law school after college. Any help with this, or other tips are greatly appreciated!

Also, if anyone could tell me when I should begin writing my college applications and when I should be sending them that would be great. My greatest concern for the moment is where I want to go for college. Thanks a bunch!

matches: UNF, FIU, FSU, FIT, USF
academic safeties: Florida Southern, Florida Atlantic, UWF

thanks for some info jkeil911, Im now currently doing some more in depth research on FSU. Also my preferred safety is probably FAU like you mentioned ^-^

Have you checked to make sure the schools are affordable? Run the Net Price Calculator on each school’s web site.

It sounds like you are OOS. Either way, have you asked your parents how much they will pay?

Look into Rollins College! It is absolutely gorgeous and 15 minutes away from UCF. You’re SATS and their 50% match up, although you are on the lower end. Its one of the best Liberal Arts colleges and has a great atmosphere and campus

FSU is more selective (based on GPA/test scores) than UCF. USF (main Tampa campus) is as selective as UCF.

The following (Florida) state university system (SUS) admission matrix is very useful for determining admission requirements at each state university (and to compare all 12 public universities). It’s includes the middle 50% for GPA and test scores at each school.

http://www.flbog.edu/about/_doc/cod/asa/admission_2013/2013-Matrix.pdf

Good Luck!

No, I am not out of state, I live in Coral Springs ^-^
I suppose I’m just not very well informed and the “florida bound” thing was confusing haha.

Also to answer the payment question, my parents are willing to put me through the best university I can get in within reason. So I am lucky enough to not have that to worry about as well.

After talking with my wonderful guidance counselor she told me to begin filling out college applications as soon as possible. I think I should apply for maybe 5 or 6 schools? So far I’m thinking UCF FSU USF FAU.
I don’t know enough about any other schools to know if I should apply or not :P

If anyone else has any random advice I would of course be very grateful! Other than that I just wanted to say I really am grateful for all the great help.

What about Eckerd? Flagler?

@woogzmama‌ Hmmm Eckerd seems interesting I think Ill look into it more, thanks! Flagler seems a bit too small for me and just doesn’t look right for me.

You could be eligible for the Florida Bright Futures, and Florida Resident Access Grant. Work on the common application right now and review the requirements of these awards with your guidance dept. You need to have volunteer hours completed soon as well.

Flagler got into a scandal concerning improperly reporting test scores. US News and World Report was very angry about it, as the false data skewed the rankings, making Flagler look better than it is. Go to a public university people have heard of.

@veritas2014 " Go to a public university people have heard of."— This is bad advice.
