What college major(s) should I take!?

I am looking to hopefully one day become an animation producer.

Currently the software I work with is Toon Boom Harmony, Blackmagic Fusion, Blackmagic Davinci Resolve, Avid Pro Tools, and Reaper. (And in the future, when money allows, I plan to add Autodesk Maya into the mix.)

My main interest is in cartoons, Cardboard cut-out style, traditional, tradigital, etc… really anything that’s purely cartoons with no live-action aspect.

Tomorrow, I go in to schedule my college classes, and very stupidly, I have not done all too much research on what I should major in to bring out the best of my abilities for this field.

I am currently thinking of majoring in Animation (Liberal Arts), minoring in mathematics, and possibly taking a buisness managment class or something like that.

What I would like to know is, as someone who has a strong passion for animation and yearns to someday produce his own television quality cartoons, what to you would be the best major/classes to take in college to help further me to my goal? TIA.

What college are you attending?

Just my local community college for right now

What are your long term educational goals? Are you planning to transfer to an art school in 2 years or a university program? What degree - BA? BFA? BS?

Once you figure that out, you can choose among your CC courses with more direction.

Keep in mind that not all credits from a CC transfer - most of them probably will if you are planning to attend one of your state un’s, but not all of those have animation as a major.
