I don’t think Villanova, Vanderbilt or Wake are likely at all, but you should get into some of the others listed. Have you visited? Very different schools, locations, and vibes.
@aquapt: Regarding your comment about “the self-proclaimed ‘public ivy’ Miami U. of Ohio” – I believe that the author who coined the phrase “public Ivy” in 1985 is the one who designated Miami University in Oxford, Ohio as a “public Ivy”. It wasn’t something that was “self-proclaimed” by Miami U.
Sorry, I came across like a grumpy old man on that last post Penn State looks like a good match. Another good school you might want to consider is Ohio University. That matches both the “nice campus” and “party scene.” A good safety school could be Texas State University. That’s considered the premiere party school of Texas, and one of the top party schools in the country. Also, it’s 30 min from Austin and 45 min from San Antonio, which gives you the best of both worlds with business internships.
I was accepted to Penn state but recently I think I prefer a private school
I have pretty similar interest with similar scores to your’s (higher SAT & lower GPA & from VA). I’m looking a bit more southern, but also applied to Villanova and Bucknell. I’m interested in Clemson, Georgia and South Carolina as well. Just thought it would be interesting to see what your top choice is right now and why?
My top is Wake Forest because I want a private school, have family that go there. and would prefer to leave home state. not 100% sure about it but at the moment seems to be my top.
Keep up the good work and putting together your list. Great you already have a superb option. My honest opinion based on the real life experience of this process last year. Wake. Villanova. Legitimate reach. Very low odds but not zero Richmond is possibility. Equal to its admission rate. 3 out 10. But stranger things have happened. You could receive good news from any.
Possible low reach/high match: Santa Clara’s business school

TCU for low match
To the OP, there’s a very enlightening Sociology class at Penn State where many of the classes get streamed to YouTube. Very cool professor and you can get an idea what the student body is like. Search on SOC 119. Some very interesting topics talked about there.
Igor deferred from wake I have no idea where I should go now
How about Fordham and/or Providence?
@carolineandrea I mentioned Elon earlier, but I still think it is a good option for you to consider based on what you said was important to you - private, good business school, good party / social scene, beautiful campus etc. The below comment is taken from my earlier post - but I still think it is worth a consideration and think you would be a strong candidate! Good luck!
“I think Elon sounds like a consideration for you. Beautiful campus (often voted one of the most beautiful in the country…), good reputation, lots of social life / parties…and their business school is ranked in the top 50 in the country. Their avg SAT is around 1300 so you would be a strong candidate there. Elon considers the following “Very Important” - GPA, Rigor of Coursework, Test Scores, Essays, Recommendations. The following are “Important” - Talents / Abilities, Extracurricular, Volunteer Work, and Work Experience. You’ve stated that you don’t have a lot of activities (I assume that includes leadership…) so that would likely be a weakness for Elon - but I think it is a school you’d enjoy and certainly you should consider applying since you have an above average SAT for Elon.”
@rickle1
Agree with all of your points. It’s irritating when people spout opinions on the cost when the OP clearly states it isn’t an issue. This is a recurring theme on CC.
