Hello! So I’m kinda debating between a few school (UCI for BBA, UCSB for Econ/accounting, and UMICH LSA for Econ/CS)
Can someone compare the schools/majors with their job/internship opportunities and the job placement after grad?
Also, I want to dual major in CS as well! In umich even if ur in LSA u can still major in CS. Is this true for UCs?
I’m in-state for UCs so those are definitely cheaper for me. I’m planning on getting MBA after undergrad, if that influences anything. LOL (and my main focus is def Econ!!)
Sounds like UCSB would be your best value. Have you visited?
Will Michigan’s COA be about $62,000 versus $32,000 COA at the UCs ?
Any career plans ?
Work for 2 to 5 years before enrolling in an MBA program.
I have visited!! All three campuses are equally beautiful :’)) honestly, people are telling me to go to Umich cuz the name but I’m not really sure
I’m thinking about personal finance advisor
Where would the cost differential come from?
(Ignore people who push prestige and dismiss costs, unless they offer to pay the cost difference :p)
The cost difference is like 5000? Not a big difference (for tuition HAHA) YES TY SOMEONE UNDERSTANDS ME
Can you do this:
(tuition fees room board) - (grants scholarships) = $…
DO NOT DEDUCT ANY LOAN and do not count indirect costs like books or transportation.
and list the result like this
UMich:$…
UCI: $…
UCSB: $…
This way we’ll be able to talk value v. price and ROI.
Uci $7400
UCSB $6172
Umich $15000
Because of family situation, I received grants/financial and some merit based scholarships!
@MYOS1634 thank you so much a for helping me :))) I was really confused and lost
I think UCSB is the best value. Unless finances are not an issue, I’d cross out UMich
@xxxx1111 Since you mentioned wanting to double major in CS it sounds like Michigan is the better choice. At UCSB CS is in the College of Engineering and is quite difficult to get into if you were not accepted when initially applying.
