I am going to start applying to colleges, but I am really clueless. I have strong EC's (they will not be discussed on this post). Based on my GPA: 3.88, and my SAT score: 2170, what schools are right for me?

My GPA is unweighted. I am in the top 15% of my class.

Try using the Supermatch engine on the left of this page.

Supermatch is a great tool for that first step of picking out colleges that you want to investigate! That being said, this is something that you should have done during the beginning of your Junior year of high school.
There are easily 100 or more colleges that might be right for you … or not.
To give you much help, we’d need more information about your preferences (size? location? majors? etc) and especially about your cost constraints.

If your approach is simply to choose the most selective colleges where you’d have a realistic shot, and if money is no object, then check out schools in the US News National Universities and National Liberal Arts Colleges lists, focusing on the #20 - #40 schools in the rankings. As you find schools that interest you, run their online net price calculators, then discuss the cost estimates with your parents to see what is affordable.

Don’t overlook your state universities.
